if the mom is a pit bull and the dad an australian shepherd what are the puppies? and are they worth anything?
Our Friends dog (Max), across the street, is a 5 year old australian Shepherd blue heeler priced at $600 to $800. Our female (Sebrina) 1.5 years old is a red-nose, gator, and elof pit bull. We bought her for $150 from my girlfriend’s sister. She retails as high as $350, (if I am correct?) So, once again what kind of puppies are they, and are they worth any money? P.S. IF YOU HATE PIT BULLS DON’T RESPOND TO THIS/THESE QUESTIONS!!! IT’S ALL IN HOW YOU RAISE YOUR DOG THAT MAKES THEM WHO THEY ARE.
For all of you who shot your mouth off and said the puppies were, "MUTTS" , can kiss my A$$! First off – I was wrong on one aspect. Max is just an australian shepherd. And our dog, Sebrina, is still a full blooded pit bull even if she has rednose pit, gator pit, and elof pit heritage. Second – The term MUTT is used to refer to usely what is called a heinz 57 type dog. Third (but not least) – If your type in "Australian Shepherd" in your internet search engine, your see sights that have Australian Shepherd mixed puppies (They don’t always say mixed with what!!) for any where between $150 to $350. So as far as just running your mouth, or copying someone elses answer, Know your facts better. Now for the fourth and last statement – You tried to answer my main question and failed. So, No One Gets Any Brownie Points!!! Bunch of dumb F**ks. The Main question was, " Are they refered as australian shepherd/pit bull mix or pit bull/australian hepherd?
They are cross breeds
Worth only what someone with pay for a cross bred pup
Maxi | Feb 01, 2010
The are mixed breeds and not worth a plug nickel. Find them good homes and ensure all the offspring are spayed and neutered, then take mom and dad to get fixed too!

The puppies are mutts, and monetarily worthless. Most people can barely give mutt puppies away for free, but you might be able to get away with asking whatever you spent on their shots and vet care (total cost divided by number of pups).
The parents of the puppies and what they "retail" for (first time I’ve heard the term "retail" in reference to a dog, but I’m not here to nit-pick) is completely and totally irrelevant. The resulting offspring are poorly bred run-of-the-mill mutts, the same mutts that can be adopted in any shelter, fully vetted, UTD on vaccines, and spayed/neutered, for $50-$100.

They are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them, generally mix/breeds unless a " designer dog" are generally only worth a minimal adoption fee.

Only pure bred dogs are worth money.
In Uk pit bulls are illegal because of the death and injury they have caused. Remember their breeding was a s fighting dogs. They may be fine with their owner but I would not trust them near a toddler or other small dog.
Excerpt from Clifton survey, US dog related incidents

Pit Bull Terrier attacks 1110, deaths 104. The next most serious was for Rottweilers with around 400 incidents.
Look at the deaths – 104 people died from attacks by one breed of dog!

They are mutts and are worth whatever you pay for shots and the vet check up.
Hoshiko *Should I tell him?* | Feb 01, 2010
MUTTS, and are worth about 50 dollars. Get them wormed and first shots and sell them for what it cost to have that done. And the take the money and have female spayed and quit producing more unwanted mutts, because shelters are full of them.
You cannot tell people to not answer questions, if they want to they will.

By the way:
Australian Shepherds and Blue Heelers are 2 different and separate breeds.

An Australian Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog is a mutt, so if someone thinks this mutt is worth $600.00 to $800.00, they need to have their head examined. You can get a mutt in a shelter for under a $100.00, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. You can a Pitt in a shelter for under $100.00. The pups may be if you are lucky, worth $50.00. No one wants mutts who haven’t had any health or genetic testing done. Dogs don’t RETAIL. You won’t make any money on a litter of pups. The parents must have health and genetic testing done. They also need whatever titles a Pitt can earn. Any title they could possibly earn wouldn’t be worth squat, as they are not recognized by any legit kennel club, only bogus registeries, such as United Kennel Club, Continental Kennel, APRI, etc. Those papers aren’t worth the paper they are printed on. A 1 1/2 old b!tch isn’t old enough to breed.
So once again, they are worth the going rate of a shelter dog, and once again, they are MUTTS. Spay and neuter. Because of irresponsible dog owners, millions of dogs are euthanized in shelters each year. Why do you want to contribute to the over population.
EDIT: Don’t forget, once the b!tch whelps, you’ll need to get both her and the pups to the vet’s within 48 hours for an exam, and the pups will need to have dewclaws removed. Also, during her pregnancy, she’ll need to have an ultrasound done so you’ll know how many pups to expect. Someone will also need to stay with the b!tch, 2 weeks prior to whelping, and at least 2 weeks afterwards. You will also need to purchase or make a correct whelping box. When the pups get to be 6 weeks old, they’ll need to get started on their vaccinations and worming.

well the puppies are cross breeds, austrailian sheperd x pit bull, it’s quite an unusual mix, so the puppys could sell quickly, but you would only get 150 to 200 for them, but make sure both dogs have good temperments, and I think the Australian sheperd may be to old to breed healthy puppys if this is his first litter but could still breed, you could breed her with another pit bull, a stud proberbly won’t cost to much and you could charge more, good luck.

Dogs are good friends, I dont think of them in dollar signs. I love dogs I have 4 chihuahuas, I would never sell them…
Tricky | Feb 01, 2010
They are mutts.
They are worth between $100 – $300 (the price of adoption from a shelter)
PoodlePuff – BYB Eater | Feb 01, 2010
The puppies would be mutts, and they would be worth exactly the same as any of the dogs they’d be either joining or pushing onto death row in the shelter.
rosemary151 | Feb 01, 2010
Dad is a mutt & the pups are mutts. Worth about $50. Pray you find good homes for them all.
BCDawgMa **Luv My Chynna** | Feb 01, 2010
there crossbreeds, worth no more than 50-100 just to cover vacinantions and stuff
Alanarama | Feb 01, 2010
Your neighbors Aussie Shep. X Blue Heeler is a mutt…..I could find the exact same mix at a shelter for a $25-75 adoption fee. $600-800 for a mutt…thats a load of B.S.
As for the puppies, they are mutts, just like their sire. Mutts that can be found at a shelter for once again a $25-75 adoption fee. Which is all they are worth.
ADD: Haha, thats really funny. "Mutt" is in most cases used when someone is describing a mix bred dog. Which is exactly what your puppies are; mix bred dogs. And, you refer to people selling mix bred aussies falsly as purebred dogs? How exactly do you know for sure that they are not purebred, and not just mis-marked/other fault to make them look different?
And lastly, as I forgot to mention this in my first answer; Pitbulls are overcrowding the shelters as it is. I know many shelters who are giving pitbull (and pit mixes) away for FREE to good homes because they are literally overthrowing the shelters. My local shelter gets 5-6+ pits a day. Now times that by 365.
Nobody is going to buy a Pit mix for anything higher than a shelter adoption fee. Go talk to some shelter staff and ask what they think about people breeding pit mixes. I’m sure you’ll get a very….colorful response from them
Aussie Love | Feb 01, 2010
They would be mutts and worth what your local shelters charge that could be anywhere from 50$ to couple hundred. Also it can depend on what someone is willing to pay. Just look at the Max apparently he is a mixed as well and someone paid 600 to 800 for him. That is crazy imo no dog is worth that much mutt or purebred, imo. I came across a puppy I really liked he was a mastiff mix but his adoption fee was 600$. I wouldn
